Enroll in Virginia Premier Advantage Elite - Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan

$0 Monthly Premium

If you are eligible for both Medicaid and Original Medicare (Part A and Part B), you may be able to enroll in the Virginia Premier Advantage Elite plan that provides extra benefits at no cost. You must also be enrolled in a Commonwealth Coordinated Care Plus (CCC Plus) Medicaid managed care plan.

Enroll or switch your Medicare D-SNP to Virginia Premier year round.

  • Once a quarter: January 1 – March 31, April 1 – June 30, July 1 – September 30. Your coverage will be effective the first of the month following your election.
  • When you enroll October 15–December 7, your coverage will take effect on January 1.

Advantage Elite Benefits

Advantage Elite offers more benefits than Original Medicare.

Preventive: oral exam, one cleaning, one fluoride treatment, two bitewing X-rays every 12 months, and one full-mouth X-ray every 36 months.

Comprehensive: fillings, extractions, and dentures up to $4,000 allowed annually.

$0 copay for routine exam. Receive up to $300 allowance every 12 months for eyewear and/or contact lenses.

$0 copay for routine hearing exam. $0 copay for one set of select hearing aids every 12 months to a max allowance of $2,000.

Members receive a grocery card loaded with $75 each month to spend on healthy food products at Harris Teeter, Kroger, Rite Aid, Walgreens, or Walmart. Grocery items can also be ordered from NationsBenefits® by phone, online, or mail— with no additional cost for delivery.

Unspent dollars do not carry over to the next month.

SilverSneakers®: Attend online classes and workshops, view on-demand workout videos, or visit one of many fitness locations nationwide. Available to Virginia Premier Advantage Elite members of all ages.

$350 allowance every three months for approved OTC products. Amount does not carry over to the next quarter.

Medical: $0 copay for 48 one-way trips every 12 months for health-related services.

Non-medical: $0 copay for 24 one-way trips every 12 months to approved locations such as grocery stores, church, or senior centers.

There is a $0 copay for inpatient hospital coverage, primary care and specialist doctor visits (office or virtual), preventive care and behavioral health visits.

Urgent care: Urgent care visits for serious medical conditions that are not life threatening are covered.

Emergency care: Hospital visits for emergencies and anything life threatening are covered.

Virginia Premier covers medications prescribed by your doctor, including some over-the-counter drugs with a prescription.

Enrolling in a Virginia Premier plan is simple and convenient. Any information you share with us is kept secure and strictly confidential.

When you enroll, have your Medicare ID card available. If you do not have your Medicare ID card, contact the Social Security Administration (SSA) at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY: 1-800-325-0778). Ask the SSA for your name as it appears in their records, and for the effective dates for your Medicare coverage.

What to Expect After Enrolling

Once you have enrolled with us, we will:

  • Confirm your enrollment with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
  • Send your Virginia Premier member ID card, which you should use for all your doctor visits.
  • Send plan documents to you, detailing your benefits and other plan information.
