What happens to my child at a well check-up with the doctor?

Your child will get a physical exam, developmental assessment and shots (immunizations). It is important to get these visits on time to make sure your child is healthy and to detect or prevent any health problems. As part of the check-ups at 12 and 24 months, your child should have a lead blood test. Lead can hurt your child’s normal brain development and cause many problems.
