You can keep previously authorized and/or scheduled doctor’s appointments and prescriptions for the first 30 days after joining Virginia Premier.
Virginia Premier may extend this time frame as necessary to ensure continuity of care pending the provider’s contracting with Virginia Premier or a safe and effective transition to a qualified provider within Virginia Premier’s provider network or as authorized Virginia Premier.
If your provider is not currently in Virginia Premier’s provider network, then you may be asked to select a new provider that is in our network.
If your doctor is already in our network but leaves it, we will notify you within 15 days so that you have time to select another provider. This applies to any behavioral health and substance abuse treatment authorizations as well.
