New Medicaid Options
On January 1, 2019, Medicaid coverage in Virginia is expanding. If you were denied Medicaid coverage in the past, you may be eligible to get coverage under the new 2019 rules.
If you are a parent with a child on Medicaid or receive supplemental nutrition assistance program benefits, you may have received an express application in the mail from Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS). Call 1-855-242-8282 before January 4, 2019 to learn more.
Already Have Health Insurance?
Currently have health insurance through the Exchange Marketplace? Depending on your income, you may be eligible for Medicaid Expansion. Log into your account at Healthcare.gov between November 1 and December 15 to update your application.
Virginia Premier Elite Individual is our Medallion Medicaid plan. This plan is for single adults and families, including parents, infants, children, teens and pregnant women, as well as children in foster care or adoption assistance.
Virginia Premier Elite Family is our Medallion FAMIS plan. This plan is for children of working parents who do not meet the income requirements for Medicaid.
Virginia Premier Elite Plus is our Commonwealth Coordinated Care Plus (CCC Plus) plan. This plan is for people who qualify for Medicaid and also may be 65 or older, get long-term services and supports, live in a nursing facility, be in a waiver program or have a disability.
