Pregnancy health is a topic getting attention because of a concerning statistic from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that found “black women in the United States are three times more likely to endure death related to pregnancy and childbirth than white women—and for black women over age 30, that risk is five times higher.”1

To join the Virginia Premier Healthy Heartbeats program, email us at healthyheartbeats@virginiapremier.com or call Member Services at the number on the back of your member ID card.
To see if you may qualify for Medicaid coverage, call Cover Virginia at 833-5-CALL-VA (TTY: 711) or visit coverva.dmas.virginia.gov. If you have never had Medicaid coverage before, you can apply at any time of the year.
Select Virginia Premier as your Medicaid health plan by calling the Virginia Managed Care Helpline at 1-800-643-2273 (TTY: 711). You may switch to Virginia Premier during your first 90 days of joining Medicaid. After that, you can switch to Virginia Premier during your region’s Medicaid open enrollment period every year.
