Victims of Hurricane Michael Granted Special Election Period

Medicare beneficiaries, we have good news for you. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recently announced an extension to the Emergency and Major Disease Special Election Period (SEP) for those impacted by Hurricane Michael, and that includes the state of Virginia.

The Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS)’ contract with Public Partnerships, LLC (PPL), expires on December 31, 2018. Effective January 1, 2019, Virginia Premier will contract with PPL for F/EA services.
