Dr. Paola A. Ortega-Rodriguez sets the bar for physician excellence.
Virginia Premier is pleased to announce that Paola A. Ortega Rodriguez, M.D., F.A.A.P., of Happy Kidz Pediatrics has been recognized as the 2022 Practitioner Golden Globe Award recipient for her continuous commitment to patient quality and excellence.
Dr. Ortega-Rodriguez is a pediatrician and founder of Happy Kidz Pediatrics, located in North Chesterfield, Va. Since 2016, Happy Kidz Pediatrics has served and cared for the children of Chesterfield and Richmond. Dr. Ortega-Rodriguez grew up in Bogota, Colombia, where she first developed an interest in medicine at the age of eight while assisting her uncle, a regional physician. After attending medical school in Cuba, she transferred to the Fundacion Universitaria de Ciencias de la Salud (FUCS) in Bogota. Her residency in general pediatrics was completed at the BronxCare Health System in New York City.
Dr. Ortega-Rodriguez is a board-certified pediatrician with the American Board of Pediatrics and has a master’s degree in Public Health from the Nova Southeastern University of Florida. Her interests include childhood obesity and prevention. Additionally, she has completed training in medical homeopathy at the Center for Education and Development of Clinical Homeopathy (CEDH) and is currently pursuing a fellowship at The Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM). She speaks English, Spanish, and Portuguese. In her spare time enjoys gardening, exercising, reading, and caring for her beehives.
